We created this TeacherTube video for our collaborative English 9 class last year after reading the novel Touching Spirit Bear.

This video shows how the Pythagorean Theorem is used incorrectly in the Wizard of Oz and the students have to figure out what is wrong.

Cool video that teaches young students about the importance of good hygiene. I found the video “Germs Don’t’ Catch ‘Em!” very interesting and relevant for my students because it teaches how germs are spread, simply by coughing or sneezing in your hand and touching items. It also shows how to not catch germs by washing your hands with warm water and soap for 20 seconds. It would be a great video to show to my middle schoolers, especially before flu season starts!

Great video describing the Physics of racing. I have my students do a research project/presentation describing the physics of a sport or something else, it would be really cool to have them make videos like this!

I liked how this video was easy to follow as he explained what he was thinking out-loud so we can follow along with him as he solves the equation. Short and sweet!

This video shows the history of United States territorial expansion using a map and key images all within a minute. I can use this as an introduction to the Westward Expansion Unit for my sophomores in a couple of weeks.

This is a funny but informative video I can use with my 7/8th graders. It is educational but also would be very funny for them. This would be a great resource for my lesson on the three types of rocks.

I like this video because it shows a very common form of bullying--social alienation--which is a topic I deal with almost daily. This is a great demonstration of it.

This Water Cycle video with a song and slide show is great for our 4th grade curriculum. I like it because the tune is catchy and accurate, it is short and sweet, and I think students enjoy the musical/technology presentation of material.

This is a cool concept for introducing a unit, but I did not think source credit was given. I included it to illustrate the idea of introducing a unit.
I was kind of frustrated with the search feature on Teacher Tube, as I watched quite a few videos that I would not show in class.

I found this co-teach lesson on haikus to be entertaining and straightforward. Definitions and examples were provided, in addition to Halloween theatrics. I think my middle schoolers will remember haikus even more so with this video.

There are a lot of videos out there that came up when I did a search for '2nd grade'. I wasn't exactly sure what I hoped for but I wanted to see some examples. Some of the videos were so busy that I could not figure out what exactly they were trying to teach and others had incorrect visuals/information. I was able to get ideas from these videos but when I came across the video I have included here, I knew that this is the kind of video that I would like to have my students work on. It is a well done video that does not make me feel motion sick to watch. The students are doing the presenting and we can hear their thought process. They are using appropriate vocabulary words while explaining how their simple machines are going to help with the problem that they were presented. This video shows project based learning in action. It would be a good assessment tool as well.
