Grade Level/Discipline:6-7-8/ Health & Physical Education; Spanish Education
Few Facts about myself:
Fact 1: I am getting married June 24th 2011! Right after school lets out! :) Fact 2: I can speak Spanish, and use it a lot with my students. The District I teach is 70% Hispanic. Fact 3: I'll be riding my bicycle over 500 miles from Elkins, West Virginia to Palmerton, Pennsylvania this summer to fight Cancer. I lost my older brother in 2007- He was only 26. Fact 4: This summer, I'll also be competing in the Kentucky Ironman Triathlon- A 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run! Yes, some people call me crazy! :)
What I'd like to learn or get out of this course:
Already, since this course started, I've come to realize how important it is to change my teaching to include more technology. I am so much more motivated to use and apply technology in my lessons than ever before. I'm really enjoying this class and both my students and I are really going to benefit from it! I'd like to continue learning about video games as educational tools.
My favorite game(s): I love Dr. Mario for Nintendo and I always win when I play vs. my fiance! haha I also love any Super Mario game! My favorite board game would have to be Solar Quest- It is just like Monopoly, but instead of buying properties, you travel around the solar system and buy different moons from the planets. It really made me learn the solar system very quickly!
