Grade Level/Discipline: High School English (Honors 9 and reg. 12)
The Feagleys
Meredith Summer, 2010
A Few Facts about Me:
I live Evansville, Indiana. I work in a rural school district as a high school English teacher, though in previous incarnations I have been a school librarian and middle school social studies teacher. My class website is ever-changing, as my students use it to find out what they'll be doing each day. While you're there, do check out my blog! This year's projects include Facebook groups and iPads!
I am a fourth generation teacher.
I have been teaching online classes for Performance Learning Systems since 2009. I love to learn new things and share the information and strategies with teachers.
I have been performing (singing and piano) since I was four years old.
I love to shop for antiques and find new and interesting ways to use my treasures("junk" as my husband calls it!) in my home. I also love to travel, near or far! I backpacked through Germany and Italy in 2000 and returned to Italy in 2004. My next goal is to get to England and study in Stratford and London!
We have a daughter, Meredith, who is an active dancing, singing, laughing four year old. She is truly a joy!
Meredith and her new gadget!
What I'd like to learn or get out of this course: I would like to learn more about what other teachers think of the new Internet-connected generation and the integration of Web 2.0 technology tools. I also love the opportunity to meet people from across the country! When my father started teaching in 1959, I'm sure none of what we are doing was conceivable!
Scrabble Tournament Champs!
Favorite Games: I host a Scrabble tournament in my English classes at the end of the spring semester. The kids really seem to enjoy it! Otherwise, I'm not much of a gamer (too competitive!), except for anything related to trivia (go Buffalo Wild Wings!). I am enjoying some of the gaming apps on my iPad...
